In Memoriam | Helena Constable Nelson

Helena Constable Nelson, lovingly known as “Madrie,” “Nelson,” “Nen,” “Marge,” “Mado,” and “Tomdul,” passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at the age of 77.

She was born on August 18, 1948, in Ti-Roche, Micoud, St. Lucia, W.I., and later resided in Princess, St. Croix, Houston, Texas, and other places where she built lifelong friendships and touched many lives.

Helena was a devoted mother, provider, hardworking woman, and dedicated friend and family member. She was known for her strong spirit and honest “say it like she sees it” personality. Her presence, wisdom, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She worked for American Airlines for more than 30 years and took great pride in caring for and supporting her family throughout her life.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Brothers: Gills, Fabian (St. Lucia), Steven (St. Croix), and Anthony (USA)

Sisters: Delphina Randolph (St. Croix), Josephine Constable (St. Lucia), and Emelia Harry (St. Lucia)

Children: Solomon Nelson ( USA), the late Hiltrude Hamilton, Karen Lorto( Paris, France), and Suzie Solomon (USA) & Caroyn ( Anna) Nelson) daugher-in-law

Grandchildren: Lisa, Liela, Bienvenido Jr. (“Papo”), Abajomie, Tony Jr. (“TJ”), Laura, Gabriel, Jahmilla, Gerald, and Devan

She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, her precious godchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Euganie Constable, and her brothers, Lucious and John Constable.
