Women's Race 2025.
Parking and traffic restrictions will be in effect this weekend in Christiansted and Frederiksted as authorities accommodate two public street events, the Virgin Islands Police Department has announced.
In Christiansted, no-parking zones will be enforced on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to facilitate the PRIDE parade, which begins at 10 a.m. on June 6.
During that period, parking will be prohibited on King Street from the Basin Triangle intersection to the Church Street intersection.
Once the parade begins, eastbound traffic will be rerouted toward Watergut, while westbound traffic from Hospital Street will be rerouted onto Queen Street, according to VIPD.
On Sunday, June 7, parking restrictions will be enforced in Frederiksted for the Women’s Coalition Annual Women’s Race.
No parking will be allowed on King Street from the Queen’s Cross Street intersection. Another no-parking zone will be in effect on Ham’s Bluff Road from the La Grange Road intersection to the Sunset Condominiums/Prosperity Farms entrance.
Parking will also be restricted on Strand Street from the Queen’s Cross intersection to the Anne Abrahamson Marine Facility. A fourth no-parking area will be on Queen Cross Street between the King Street and Strand Street intersections.
The Frederiksted parking restrictions will be in place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Traffic will also be prohibited on King Street, Strand Street and Ham’s Bluff Road from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., or until the race is completed. VIPD said no southbound traffic coming from Rainbow Beach or the Northside area will be allowed past Prosperity Farms until after the runners have finished.
Vehicles parked in restricted areas on both days may be ticketed and towed, VIPD warned.
